How Nature Shapes Our Art in Petals, Paint, and People
As artists who spend our days surrounded by floral design, petals and paint, we often find ourselves standing in quiet awe of how flowers are made. It might sound simple, but when you really stop to look—really look—at a flower, you begin to see just how precise and mathematical nature is. Each curve, each spiral, each tiny fold follows a rhythm and pattern that feels both ancient and brand new.
Whether we're creating a fresh floral necklace for a prom or painting delicate petals across someone’s shoulder at an event, there’s always this moment when we realize: this isn’t random. This is design.
Nature's Mathematical Design
A fundamental pattern found throughout nature, is the Fibonacci sequence which shapes the growth and structure of plants, flowers, and seed arrangements. This sequence—where each number is the sum of the two before it (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, …)—creates spirals and ratios that optimize space, maximize sunlight exposure, and ensure efficient resource distribution. Flowers often have petal counts that match Fibonacci numbers, while seed heads, pinecones, and even varieties of broccoli display spirals that follow this pattern. The reason behind this natural design lies in efficiency—plants grow in ways that prevent overcrowding, promote balanced structures, and make the best use of available space. From the precise angle of leaf growth to the mesmerizing spirals in sunflowers, the Fibonacci sequence serves as nature’s blueprint for order and harmony. Isn't nature amazing!

Wearing Flowers, Painting Petals
Right now, we’re deep into a series of wearable floral art pieces, combining painted flowers on the skin with fresh flowers to create a stunning floral piece. The more we explore the possibilities creating with flowers, and the more we study them we start to notice new things not seen before— the way petals layer perfectly, the way colours deepen toward the centre, the way a stem curves just enough to catch the light. Nature's incredible designs and patterns, are not just for beauty but also for longevity and preservation of the species, as in the Fibonacci sequence.
These are some of our favourite creations, blending hand-painted flowers on skin with, fresh and dried flowers worn as jewellery. Floral necklaces, corsages and blooming shoulder pieces turn people into walking flower gardens, and honestly, what could be better than that?
These pieces are perfect for proms, parties, and corporate events because they let people become part of the art. There's something special about seeing someone light up when they wear flowers.
It invites someone to immerse themselves in the beauty of flowers
and experience playful floral artistry
Body art has a long history across cultures, and we love adding our own chapter to that story with flowers as our focus.

On Stage with Flowers
In our floral design work, we also create live demonstrations, building multiple floral designs on stage around a theme. While we work, we share stories, tips, and plenty of laughs. But underneath all of it, we’re thinking about the principles and elements of design—form, line, texture, space, contrast.

To bring something new to our audiences, we mix a wide variety of flowers. Round, soft blooms contrast with spiky, architectural ones. Long, trailing vines wrap around structured shapes and mechanics. It’s all about contrast and harmony living side by side, which, come to think of it, feels a lot like life itself.

The Joy of Creation
For us, our faith naturally weaves into this work. It’s impossible not to think about the Creator when you’re studying the blueprint of a rose or the precise spiral of a dahlia. The incredible maths hiding in plain sight in both flowers and people in their forms. The geometry of petals, the symmetry of leaves, the gradation of size, shape and shades of petals —all of it speaks to a designer so much bigger than us.
It’s easy to take these details for granted. But in our work, we get the gift of really looking and really seeing, and that leads us straight into wonder.

Let’s Make Something Beautiful For You
Whether we’re painting flowers on skin or creating a floral design you can wear, we love inviting others into the joy of creation. If you're dreaming of a unique piece for your next event, we'd love to help make it happen.
